Ajman University (AU), committed to protect the environment, has organized a clean-up campaign wherein 20 students collected wastes from an area of 10,000 meters, filling 42 trash bags.
The ‘Community Cleanup Day’ was assumed by the Office of Community Engagement at the Unit of Community Service, AU, according to Noor Al Chaghouri, Head of Community service.
“The ‘Community Cleanup Day’ is meant to encourage AU students to volunteer and donate part of their special time to serve our mother earth.”
It is also a beautiful weather to go out with friends and family but it is important to make sure that the environment remains clean, she added.
“The Unit of Community Service has chosen a location - 10,000 meter in area, here in Ajman and AU volunteers cleared it up.”
The students enjoyed picking up the trash and unwanted items, Al Chaghouri pointed out. “The 20 volunteers filled up 42 trash bags in few hours and their teamwork and good effort really made a difference.”
This rewarding activity helped AU students get an amazing experience and encouraged them not to litter around, she underlined.
“All students got the message right and realized that it is not an easy job to clean up, while workers are doing this tiring mission every single day.”
