  • Completed exchange application form
  • Passport copy, valid for at least six months
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Most recent academic transcript
  • Proof of English proficiency, if required
  • Learning agreement or proposed course list
  • Proof of health insurance valid in the UAE

Frequently asked questions

Exchange is open to students nominated by one of AU's partner universities. Check with your home university's international office to confirm AU is a partner and that you meet their criteria.
Nominations and applications are due a few months before the semester begins. See the deadlines above, or confirm with the OIAA.

Yes, with planning. Agree a learning agreement with your home university before you arrive so your AU courses map to credits in your degree.
Most exchange students need an entry permit to study in the UAE. Once you are accepted, the OIAA will guide you through the process.
On-campus residences are available, with secure, modern accommodation and spaces to study and socialize. The OIAA can share options once you are accepted.
