After long tiring days of hard work and study, the day has come, and it is time for reaping the much-awaited-harvest, and enjoy the commencement ceremony.
Ajman University (AU), under the sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University, gears up to honor 437 graduates this February.
The 165 male and 272 female graduates, the first cohort of the AU 29th batch, ‘Class of 2020, are hailing from 32 different nationalities around the world in a way that best reflects AU diversity.
The latest official records show that the male and female graduates include 378 holders of bachelor's degrees and 59 of master's degrees.
The commencement ceremonies are both to be held at the Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences & Exhibitions on February 24 for male graduates, and on February 25 for female graduates.
Dr. Abdulhaq Al-Nuaimi, Vice-Chancellor for Communication and Community Affairs, said the Class of 2020 is lucky to graduate this year which the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced as a stand point to review the country achievements and gear up for the coming years.
“This year will also witness the Dubai Expo 2020 where over 192 countries and millions of visitors from around the globe are to flock to the UAE and share their knowledge and expertise.”
The locally made Hope Probe, also known as the Emirates Mars Mission, is to be launched this year as well to the Red Planet to gather information about the atmosphere, he added. “Also, this year, the UAE has launched its new seven-line media brand to share the inspiring story of the Emirates.”
Ajman University, as part of arrangements for the anticipated function, has launched a special web portal (commencement.ajman.ac.ae) that incorporates all the details thereof.
Top graduates in bachelor and master’s degrees are to be unveiled on the very website some days before the ceremony which is to be telecast live on social media.
Graduates may express their joy, and share the moment and their university memories on a special hashtag (#AUgrad2020), launched as well.
